If you live in or near Vancouver, do yourself a favour. Leave town, go north and enjoy nature.
There are several ways to do this. You can head out on a bicycle, go for a hike, or ask a friend to drive you so you can look around. If you opt for the latter, make sure to stop somewhere to get out.
Then look around. Take in the mountains with perhaps a snowy peak. Watch the trees standing tall, nearby and in the distance. Hear the wind around you and the sea below. And breathe. Deeply.
Smell that? They call it nature. Feel that? They call it space. Please enjoy it.
I took this picture a few years ago on a rainy day in March, overlooking Howe Sound in British Columbia (Canada), just north of Vancouver. If you go there today, you probably find it in pretty much the same state. Especially on a grey and rainy day the view changes by the minute: curtains of rain, a break in the clouds, more rain in the distance. And with an unobstructed view it can be a pretty spectacular sight.
Have you been there, and what did you think of it?
